How to Create a Saved Notification to Send to myCAMPapp Parents

You can create a saved notification to be used at a later time by navigating to Admin > Families > Saved push notifications. (You can also do this same process for Staff members under Admin > Staff > Saved push notifications.)

This process follows the same basic steps that creating a Saved Email or Saved Text Message does.

Create a New Saved Push Notification Category

Here you can create saved categories to organize your notifications. Categories are not mandatory and are not seen by parents/staff.

To add a new category, click on "+ Add new saved family push notifications category..."

Give your category a name and then click "Add category" when done.

Your category now exists in CampSite and can have notifications saved to it going forward.

Compose a New Saved Push Notification

To create a new push notification click on "+ Compose a new saved family push notification..."

You will then be directed to the notification composition screen. Here you can choose to select an already existing notification from the dropdown list if you want to edit it, or you can compose a new message by typing into the "Message" text box.

Type your message as needed (up to 250 characters). When done, click on the "Save push notification" button to save the notification.

Type a name for the notification into the "Name" box.

Choose a Category to save the notification to from the dropdown.

Click on "Save push notification" when ready.

You will see a green pop up confirming your save when done.

The new notification is now saved to the list of saved notifications.

Saved Notification Tools

There are three buttons that can be used to edit or show your notificaitons from this screen.

Double clicking on the pencil icon will give the option to change the notificaitons saved name, change the category it's saved to, or archive the push notification.

Double clicking on the gray and green double paper icon will create an exact copy of the notification. Click "OK" when prompted to create the copy.

Double click on the magnifying glass icon to view the body of this notification outside of the editing page.

If you need to delete an un-sent push notification, double click on the red delete circle to the far right side. 

Keep in mind that you can only delete an un-sent notifcation. If your notification has been sent previously, archive the notification first by double clicking on the pencil icon and then selecting "Archive this push notification".

Archived push notifications will stay within their category, but will now be hidden in the "Show # archived push notification....". Clicking on this option will show the archived notification.

An archived notification can be deleted, even if it has been sent out previously. 

To un-archive a notification, double click on the pencil icon again and select the green "Unarchive this push notification" button.

Save any changes made to this page by clicking on the "Save changes" button in the bottom right corner of the screen when done.
