Release Notes 2023

Release Notes - Friday, December 15th, 2023

Today's release features the following updates and improvements:

  • Extended family members in the Camp Today Media module can now successfully reset their dashboard password via the 'forgot password' tool on their login page, as needed.
  • In the Camp Today Media module, plain text passwords are no longer emailed to extended family members when an admin creates or edits them on a family or profile - they're now emailed the password reset page to set their password themselves. This update is part of a series of security updates to prevent passwords from being sent via email.
  • In the Medical module, when a camper and staff health center visit log has the same ID number and you click to view the log from the Log Archives report, the correct log now displays.
Release Notes - September 7th, 2023

Today's release features the following updates and improvements:

  • For camps who've purchased access to our API and also the Medical module, we added GET and POST endpoints for the medication "received" field.
  • We also fixed a hand full of bugs:
    • For camps with our Camp Today Media module, we fixed an issue preventing photo thumbnail images from loading properly.
    • On the Lead Tracking page, we corrected the "...minutes ago" value for additional leads loaded on the page.
    • We updated the CSV exports of all financial Accrual "summary" reports so the table footers are included on the CSV.
    • We fixed how the Request for Information and New Family Enrollment forms couldn't be submitted if a parent clicked to add a second camper but then deleted them before trying to submit the form.
Release Notes - July 26th, 2023

Today's release features the following updates and improvements:

Mass Archive Saved Emails

You can now mass archive and mass un-archive saved e-mails. In the Saved E-mails tab, find new "Mass Archive" and "Mass Unarchive" links. Select multiple emails to archive or unarchive and submit. Voila!

To learn more, click here.

Attach a File to a Health Center Visit Log

For camps with our Medical module, you can now attach a file to a health center visit log.

Find a new file uploader at the bottom of the logging screen. Choose (1) file from your device to upload, if relevant. Click here to learn more.

Access log files when viewing the log via the Log Archives report and/or the Logs tab on a camper/staff person's profile page.

"Primary" Checking Accounts Indicated on New Payments

For camps that accept checking account payments, the new payment modal on the family profile page will now indicate which checking account is the family's "primary" account.

...and we fixed some bugs

  • You can now report on Form  Review data for different session and daily forms.
  • Admins can edit staff yearly and session custom field values as long as they have Staff  'Edit' permissions.
Release Notes - June 5th, 2023

Today’s release features the following updates and improvements:

  • For camps with our Staff module, we added a new snapshot on the Staff department board of the number of staff hired.
See a breakdown of total hired staff; total hired by gender; and total hired without a title assigned yet.
  • In the Donors module, donors can now include a note with their general donation.
Donations added via the Donor dashboard and/or by admins via the Donor profile page now include an input for "Notes" on the donation. Admins can also edit notes on existing donations if needed.

  • We also fixed the following bugs:
    • Some admin users using the responsive admin layout were unable to edit the 'Form review' status for camper forms and also permanent custom fields for campers.
    • When using the Enrollment Requests queue in the responsive admin layout, the 'Incomplete' and 'Waitlist' tab didn't display all requests (like they do in the legacy admin layout).
    • The advanced report fields for campers' "First Enrollment Request date" and families' "Date of last payment" were using UTC time instead of each camp's designated timezone.
Release Notes - April 13th, 2023

Today’s release features the following updates and improvements:

For camps with our Medical module, we improved the user experience on the Health History Form when the "Immunizations" section is "Mandatory."

  • First, we added "None" to the dose dropdowns, so that if a camper hasn't received a certain dose, they can select "none" instead of being forced to select a date.
  • Also, chickenpox date, TB test date, and TB test results are no longer required even if "Immunizations" are mandatory, so parents can skip these 3 questions if they're not relevant.

For the form review feature, we've added the option to display the form review status on the Dashboard.

  • Find this new setting under Admin > DB Management > Forms:
  • Note that we've only released this feature for Camper Forms on the Parent Dashboard at this time. We'll roll out the same functionality for family, Staff, and Events forms in the coming months.
  • When enabled, all Camper Forms will show their review status beneath the form name:
  • Any form that has not been reviewed will say "Not reviewed." Tip: If you're not going to review all of your camp's forms, create another custom review status like "No review needed" to indicate that to parents.
  • The standard "Approved" review status will display in green, and the standard "Denied" review status will display in red. Any additional custom review statuses your camp has created will display in grey.

New admin users now create their own passwords

  • In our ongoing security effort to stop sending passwords via email, now when you create a new admin user for your CampSite database, you can no longer set their password for them - they'll receive an automatic email as soon as their account is created that contains a link to create their own password the first time they log in.

Bug fix

  • We fixed a bug with the Avery 5881 label template that was causing blank pages to appear between label sheets.
Release Notes - March 8th, 2023

Today’s release features the following:

Improvements:

  • The Enrollment Requests page of the responsive admin layout now includes filters for your new, approved, waitlisted, and rejected requests.

  • You can now filter your Waitlisted enrollment requests queue by each camper's grade, age, gender, enrollment option, and session if you're using the responsive admin layout. To enable the mobile responsive layout, click the link of your name in the top left of the screen, scroll down to Beta programs, select "All devices", and then save changes. The responsive layout will apply as soon as you visit another page.

  • You can now report on form review data in camper, staff, group, and guest advanced reports. Click to add a field/filter, then select the Forms tab - you'll see a new sub-tab for the review data for each form.

  • For camps with our Staff module, we made 2 new updates:
    • Staff can now upload a profile photo via the "My Account" page of the responsive Staff Dashboard, in addition to the "Photo Upload" step of the staff application (if you have that page enabled). With that, if you wish to disable the Photo Upload step of the application, staff now have another way to upload a photo.
    • Admins can now report on Total Salary, Total Taxable Salary, Total Charges, Adjusted Salary, and Adjusted Taxable Salary in Staff advanced reports, as well as the new custom "salary amount" fields.

  • For camps with access to our API (and the Staff module), we've added endpoints to get/post/put staff salary custom values.

Bug fixes:

  • For camps with our Events module, we fixed the false error message that appeared when adding a credit card to a guest's profile page.

  • We also added the new camper cellphone field to the "Add new camper" page of the Responsive Parent Dashboard to allow parents to input this information when manually adding another camper to their family.

  • We fixed the HTML code that appeared when changing a family's invoice preferences via  the Financial > Invoices tab of their profile page.
Release Notes - January 26th, 2023

Today’s release the following updates and improvements. Click the embedded links for more details/screenshots.

  • Camper custom color is now available as a field/filter in Advanced Reports.
Find the field under the 'Enrollment' tab, within 'General enrollment info'. The mass editing function is also available changing custom colors in mass. Please note:  in reports, no custom color is considered white, a.k.a. hex code #ffffff.  Click here to learn more.
  • We updated how admin users manually reset the dashboard password for a parent, staff, guest, or donor.
When using the 'Reset dashboard password' tool in the profile page action menu, admins can now also choose to email a link to the password reset tool, allowing the individual to choose their own password. Admins can also still set the individual's password for them, but the password can no longer be sent via email, for security purposes.
  • For camps with our Staff module, schools, employers, and references can now be made required on your application.
Choose whether 1, 2, or 3 items are required. If an item is required, ALL fields for it must be filled in. Find this new setting under Admin > Staff > Application: Settings.
  • The new form review feature we added to camper forms last November is now available for family, staff, group, and guest forms, too.
Keep an eye out - we'll be adding form review status data to advanced reports soon, too.
  • You can now click each session name in your Enrollment Analytics report to view the campers currently enrolled in it.
An advanced report for that session will open in a new tab, automatically loading all campers currently enrolled in it.
  • Custom fields can now be rearranged to control the order they appear in on profile pages.
Navigate to the Custom Fields tab under Admin and use the new rearrange function to drag & drop them into your preferred order.

Reporting on Camper Custom Color

Add a Field

Find the "Custom color" field within the Enrollment tab, under General Enrollment Info.

  1. The custom color field of the report results will be filled in with the camper's custom color.
  2. Each cell will also contain the color hex code, in an inverse color for best visibility.

Add a Filter

Filter by campers who have a specific custom color/s (or, do not have a specific custom color/s).

Click the color icon to open the color picker and select a color, or enter a color hex code.

Filtering Campers with a Custom Color

NOTE: In reports, a "blank" custom color is white. To report on campers with no custom color, filter for custom color "is exactly" white (or #ffffff).

Mass Edit

Once editing is enabled, the custom color values in the report will convert to color pickers.  Click each color picker to edit colors individually, or set all rows the same value.
