Does CampSite integrate with any third party softwares (e.g. QuickBooks)?
If you purchase access to our API, you can develop integrations that would allow you to send data between CampSite and other systems, such as your website, a separate internal database, or accounting software.
Note that you'll need an IT member/developer on your end to build the necessary integration for taking advantage of the API functionality. Please see the FAQ "What can we do with CampSite's API?" for the sort of actions your developer could automate using the API endpoints that we offer.
If you're interested in purchasing access to our API, please send an email to support@campmanagement.com.
What can we do with CampSite's API?
How does an API integration work exactly?
An API integration between CampSite and another system can allow you to automate adding data to CampSite; editing existing data in CampSite; deleting data from CampSite; or retrieving data from CampSite.
- Note that CampSite offers a REST API, meaning CampSite can only respond to requests from the other system to add/edit/delete/send data.
- This means that CampSite cannot initiate data transfers with another system; it can only respond to incoming requests to transfer data.
That said, whether or not an API integration is a suitable solution depends on if the process you're trying to automate can be driven by the other system.
What's an example of the call & response process?
Say you want an API integration where new families created in CampSite are automatically added to your Salesforce account, and new families added to your Salesforce account are automatically created in CampSite.
- If the new family is created in CampSite, Salesforce will then need to send an API call to CampSite to retrieve the new family's data from your database--CampSite cannot automatically send the family's details to Salesforce as soon as the family gets created.
- If the new family is added into your Salesforce account, Salesforce will then need to send an API call to CampSite to create a new family--CampSite cannot automatically call Salesforce and retrieve new families.
Can we add/edit/delete/retrieve ANY CampSite data via API?
No - we only allow other systems to add/edit/delete/retrieve certain data, but we continue to add to this list.

Once you purchase API access for your CampSite database, we'll provide you with all of the API endpoints your developer will need for automating the actions listed above.
We want to build an integration - what's next?
- Make sure your CampSite subscription includes the API module. Not sure? Email support@campmanagement.com.
- Acquire an API developer.
- Give them a login to your database (with permission to the data involved in the automations they're building).
- Direct them to log in, go to "My Profile", and scroll down to "API key" in order to obtain their API key and also access our API documentation, which has all the information they need from us to develop the integration(s).
Can I customize the options available for gender?
Yes. Camps can control exactly which values appear in the gender dropdown menu via their database dropdown list settings.
To locate the gender dropdown list in your database:
- Go to the Admin page
- Select the DB Management tab
- Select Dropdown lists
- Find and click Genders to expand the current list of available values
Remove existing values as needed (either double click to delete; or, set them as 'admin only' for internal use only). Add additional values by typing a new value into the text box and clicking the 'add value' button. To learn more, click here.
Note that the provided Genders dropdown list links to CampSite's standard gender question within every module (e.g. campers, staff applicants, event guests, etc.) In areas where data is color coded by gender, "Male" gender is represented in blue and "Female" gender is represented in pink/red. Any other gender value will be represented by gray/white.
Where do I edit the values in a dropdown list for a certain question/custom field?
- Go to Admin
- Select the DB Management tab
- Select Dropdown Lists
- Click a list to open the values within it
- Add/delete values as needed
To learn more, click here.
How do I add Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel or other custom tracking code to CampSite Pages?
Camps can embed JavaScript via the admin settings for their database.
To learn more, please read our support article on Embedded JavaScript for the latest information.
Where do I update the address listed on our financial documents/registration contracts?
We maintain your camp's address on the backend of your account, and auto-populate that address on your camp's registration contracts, financial statements, and invoices. We also store a separate 'payment remit' address which appears on the payment coupon for invoices that are not configured for auto pay.
If you need to change either of the above addresses, please email CampSite Support via support@campmanagement.com.
