Accessibility Options on the Admin Side and Parent Dashboard

To bring Parent, Staff, and Donor dashboards into compliance with modern visual scanning expectations, we’ve introduced an Accessibility Widget. Using this widget users can change typography size or select a dyslexia-friendly font as well as being able to choose to view the page using alternate high-contrast or inverted colors, toggle inverted dark configurations, or activate dyslexia-friendly layouts with single-action toggles that persist throughout their session.

This capability is limited on the Admin interface to users using the mobile responsive interface.

This capabilty appears by default to the already existing Parent, Staff, and Donor dashboards.

On The Admin Side of CampSite

To use the new accessibility widget on the Admin side of CampSite, users will need to be viewing CampSite's Responsive Interface.

You can activate the Responsive Interface by clicking on the “My Profile” optoin on the top navigation bar in the Legacy Version of CampSite. Click on "your username" @ "Camp Initials" link in your navigation bar.

Once on your settings page, look under “Beta Programs”. Change the “Responsive design beta” dropdown menu to “All Devices”.

Once "All Devices" is selected in the dropdown list, click on "Update beta program preferences". This will change CampSite from the Legacy Interface to the Responsive Interface (as seen in the screenshot below).

Once in the Responsive Interface, you can access the "Accessibility" option on the bottom of the left side bar.

When clicked, a pop up will appear with the options to edit the screen as needed for accessibility.

Here you can change font size or select a dyslexia-friendly font and you can choose to see the page in alternate high-contrast or inverted color page views.

On The Parent Dashboard

The Parent Dashboard can access these accessibility options as well. This way all parents can use the parent dashboard to the best of it's ability!

On the parent dashboard, no changes need to be made to access this ADA widget. For a parent to access the ADA widget, they simply need to login and click on the "Accessibility" option on the left side bar.

Clicking on this option will cause the accesibility pop up to appear. Parents can then select the same options that Admin will have to change font size or select a dyslexia-friendly font for the page. They can also choose to see the page in alternate high-contrast or inverted color page views.

This same accessibility option is available on the Staff dashboard and on the Donor dashboard in the same way.
