Release Notes - Responsive Parent Dashboard, September 12th 2018

We're excited to announce that CampSite's responsive Parent Dashboard has graduated out of beta and is now ready to be activated for your camp!

The new Parent Dashboard has all of the same functionality as our current version, but in a responsive layout - a layout that adjusts to whatever size screen its being viewed on. Whether its a phone, tablet or desktop, the interface adjusts to present the best experience on any device.

Moreover, control of the Parent Dashboard appearance is now in your hands! You'll be able to control the color theme, background image and other settings right from CampSite, without having to submit a support ticket.

How do we activate the responsive Parent Dashboard?

Simply go to Admin -> Campers -> Parent Dashboard and find the 'Enable responsive Parent Dashboard?' toggle at the bottom of the page. Once you switch the toggle to 'Yes' and click 'Save changes', the new dashboard will be activated for all parents. See this article for more details.

Can I try it out first before we commit?

Yes! Using the toggle mentioned above, you can review and evaluate the new Parent Dashboard, and deactivate it if desired.

How do I change the appearance of the responsive Parent Dashboard? Will our current 'skin' be copied over to the new one?

We've put control of the appearance of the responsive Parent Dashboard in your hands! Once you activate the responsive Parent Dashboard, a new tab will show up under Admin -> DB Management, labelled 'Responsive theme' (you'll need to refresh the 'Admin' page after activating the toggle for it to show up). If you'd like us to copy your current Parent Dashboard skin into the new one, we can do that too - just click the link at the top of the 'Responsive theme' tab to open a support ticket.

What if we want to switch back?

No worries - you'll be able to deactivate the new Parent Dashboard through CampSites Admin page at any time, with no loss of data or side effects.
